Although I have done the shopping, put up the decorations, wrapped the presents and listened to the music this year I really didn't get into it...until Monday that is...we had an adult night went to a Christmas Carol at Hale Center Theater. In all my years :-) and all the times I have sang the song "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" I never thought about the words. When they started to sing it I totally broke down crying...shocking I know! A couple of the verses really hit me hard and I just wanted to share as a reminder of what Christmas is all about. Merry Christmas everyone we love you!
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tiding of comfort and joy
"Fear not then," said the Angel,
"Let nothing you affright,
This day is born a Saviour
Of a pure Virgin bright,
To free all though who trust in Him
From Satan's power and might."
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

Merry Christmas! We saw A Christmas Carol last weekend at Hale Center Theater. I totally broke down in tears during this song as well. The words really are touching.
Um, it was distracting trying to read the words of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" while your blog was playing "Pour Some Sugar on Me!" lol
But that's cool. I hadn't thought of the words either.
