As most people know, I HATE having my picture taken, but for our parents we decided to get pictures taken of just the two of us, for the first time since we were married, and give it to them for Christmas. Chad's cousin Mandi took them and she was AMAZING! When we got the pictures back and looked through them I could only pick a handful of them that I DIDN'T just LOVE...and I never like pictures that I am in. If you are in need of pictures you MUST check out her work at nuttsphotography.blogspot.com because it is all incredible. Here are a few of our favorites from the shoot. Thanks again Mandi for making us look so good, you're the best!

Washington D.C.
Over the Thanksgiving break we went out to D.C. for my brothers graduation. I know it's all old news and everyone has already heard about how my brother really is Jack Bauer, but really I am so happy that he has found something that he loves and is great at but now that they have moved away from Utah and moved on to a new chapter of their life we sure miss them. Good luck you guys we love you!!!!
Currently my computer is wigging out and I can seem to download our pictures, so that will have to come later, but stay tuned because they are AWESOME! It was Chad's first time and I was so excited to show him everything I could in the short time we were there!

We are in fact alive...
Well everybody, it seems like it's been about a million years since I last blogged and I have TONS to share. Now that Fall semester is out of the way...as crappy as a semester as it was, it's OVER and that's all that matters now. Christmas is out of the way...we were kind of scrooges this year! We didn't put up a single decoration, yes that includes a tree...in fact I just cleaned today and took down the three stuffed pumpkins I managed to pull out for Halloween. Yeah I KNOW!!!! It's been a rough little while! Anyway, so mainly this is a warning of the many posts coming up...love you all!!!

While I should have been doing homework...
I often find myself consumed in a project and realize there are SO many other things I need to be doing. Before Halloween my sister asked me to help her make her kids costumes. Her boys wanted to be Link (from Zelda the video game). Amazing craziness happens when we are together, and this is proof...

SEW UP YOUR HORSE
My teacher told us a story of her parents. I absolutely loved it, found great insight from it, and thought I would share:
In the middle of The Great Depression her mother and father lived on a little farm here in Utah. Like most at this time, they were unable to make ends meet. At night her father would sneek on the train and go town to town looking for work and send anything he made home to his wife and six children. Her mother took care of the farm and everything that went along with it. They had one horse and in the middle of the night something scared the horse and it went running. It ran right into a barbwire fence and slashed it's chest. The wound was very deep and her mother knew that the horse would not live if it weren't attended too immediately. They couldn't call for a doctor because this horse what their only mode of transportation. She gathered her children and together they tied the horse down and each of the six children sat on the horse. She took her darning needle and some yarn and began to stitch up the wound. Of course she had no training in such things, and there is no way that those, or any, children could hold this horse during such a procedure, but the horse lived and somehow everything worked out for this family.
I know that we have all heard such stories and think, wow that's cool, but that would never happen to me. Well, know this...hard times are sure to come. In these hard times, I hope we can remember that within us we all have the ability to overcome ANY AND EVERY SITUATION!! When you are faced with something you are sure is too much to bare, remember this phrase, "Sew up your horse!" Although we will probably will never face a thing such as this, we will face our own situations where we are sure that this is it, and there is no overcoming. YOU CAN DO IT!! God has given us each the power we need to get through anything. Trust in Him, and "SEW UP YOUR HORSE!"

The waiting is finally over...
My letter came...is it good, is it bad?! , here's what it says, "The Early Childhood Education Admissions Committee has reviewed you application and I am happy to inform you that you have been accepted into the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program for Winter Semester, 2009." If you said good news, you were right!!! YAY!!! This couldn't have come on a better day, I'm not sure I could handle anymore crap handed to me.
Will I be framing this?! YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!!!

Sick and Tired
I know it's been a while since I last posted and I have gotten daily calls or emails from my sister asking if I have heard anything about my major. Nope, nothing yet. I just woke up three hours ago and for the life of me I can't go back to sleep. I was really hoping to go back to school and work tomorrow. I went to bed early feeling better thinking if I got sleep I would be able to go back. Of course I wake up in tons of pain and feel like I have gotten absoltely no where in this whole mess. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!
I'm so sick of doctors! I called this morning to tell them what is going on, and they say I need to come in right away. I come in, the nurse tells me one thing, the doctor comes in and literally spends 2 min. tops with me and diagnoses me with something completely different, hands me a prescription and walks out! He didn't tell me anything about what to do, what it is, what to expect, NOTHING. Um...OK?! This guy was my doctor and when I started having all kinds of health problems. I was sick of going in having him hand me a prescription and nothing ever changing, so I started seeing his PA...WHOM I LOVE...but he is out of town (of course). His diagnoses is probably right, I don't know, frankly at this point I don't care because I'm not going back. I just wish that he acted like he cared or even talked to me like he had a basis for his diagnosis rather than saying here it is, call Friday, walking out, and sending me home to cry.
If it weren't for my wonderful sister and my friends I'm not sure I would have made it through this horrible day!! A friend from high school used to say, "Boo you whore" (from Mean Girls) and after the doctor talked to me that is all I wanted to say. "Boo you whore". On that note, I'm going to go find yet another movie to watch, hopefully one that will justify crying...

A potentially awkward situation...
So, I was in my Humanities class today and the teacher writes the word "oracle" up on the board. She asks if any of us know what it is. I'm glance up, see the word, congratulate myself in my mind that I know the answer and look back to my notes. No one raised their hand, so she asked again. I thought this was a great time to capitalize on the moment so I raised my hand. Luckily, I wasn't called onhowever...as the student told what an oracle was, I looked up at the word again and realize I totally was thinking "orgy"! WOW!!!! That could have been exceptionally awkward. I'm pretty sure after that I would never show my face again in class. But again I guess I can congratulate myself for knowing what THAT means, because if it ever comes up in class I'm sure I would be the only one stupid enough to answer the question! You can bet that I will be thinking a lot harder before my hand goes up in the air in class!

TRUTH
A friend of mine made a ground breaking discovery, which I have been meaning to share. Ok honestly, I never intended too...I didn't want EVERYONE to know, however, I feel obligated to share the truth with all! For years women all over the world have obsessed about weight loss. Feeling inadequate and depressed when stepping on the scale. The thought of that dreaded needle springing to an unmentionable number hangs over many of us. Little did we know that all along we have had it wrong. No wonder the number on the scale never seems right! I'm sure it has been a scam all along telling women to STAND on the scale! How upsurd! How did we not see the truth before now?! So ladies, if you must make the dreaded walk to the scale...let's do it right from now on, and breathe a sweet sigh of relief that we now know the TRUTH!

MY NEW JOB!!
It's official, I am going to be working in the BYU Kindergarten during Fall semester! I am SOOOO excited! I can't believe I am going to get paid to do what I love...play with kids! Although there is no light at the end of my schooling tunnel, working with the children in the Preschool this past Summer has made the semester a million times better. I can't wait until I can have a class of my own!

Homework...Homework....Homework....and then some more homework
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I really do have a good reason. I promise nothing exciting has been happening...everything that could have been potential blogs I haven't been able to go to. This Summer Term has been crazy! So many people told me how easy Spring/Summer is...well, I'm not sure I agree. I'm sure partly I just wasn't ready for how fast it all goes by, but I got all of the teachers who refused to cut ANYTHING out...therefore all I do is homework. Next week is the last week of class. I'm excited for the break, and the chance I will have to work on my major application, however, I'm a little worried that it is so close to the end of the term and I am not more panic-y.
So, I've been looking through old pictures of my dad and I found these. These were taken while he was still in school working on his Masters and Doctorate degree. This so fits how I have felt recently, and I'm sure anyone who is in school, or already finished, knows what I mean. Although, I have no room to talk. My dad was working full time, going to school full time, and had six kids plus me! I count as a lot more than one! I figure if he can do it...I should be able to!
Isn't this couch AWESOME?!
This one I was around...see the swing! And notice the awesome curtains!
